Congratulations! Getting engaged is an exciting time in life. In addition to daydreaming about the future, however, many couples find themselves overwhelmed by the sheer number of steps that need to be properly planned so they can have the wedding they desire. At Flora D’Amore, we have helped numerous couples reach that special day, and we find that those who follow a plan, like the one we have outlined here, tend to do so with significantly less stress.

Consider venuesthumbnail

When couples decide on a venue, it can often feel as though an enormous weight has been lifted off their shoulders -it is a wonderful way to take a giant leap forward in the planning process. Develop a list of several different possible event venues, taking into account available dates, occupancy, and price. Once the couple has an idea on their budget, guest list, and ideal dates, they can then begin to narrow down their options to a final decision.

Develop a budget

Weddings are wonderful because they can be completely personalized to the individual couple and their budget. Every couple should go into wedding planning having a good idea about how much they want to spend. Sites like The Knot and Wedding Wire have easy-to-use templates that couples can use to draw up a budget.

Colors are a wonderful way to start bringing the ceremony and reception together. Colors will help the couple make decisions about a variety of different aspects of the ceremony, from the cake to the tablecloths.

This also means selecting colors for bridesmaid dresses as well as the groom and groomsmen attire. Color themes can help bring the entire ceremony together and help with the selection of accent colors such as boutonnieres.

Start contacting vendors

Once the budget has been developed and the couple knows their venue, they should start contacting other vendors, particularly those that book up quickly. Speak with the venue to see if they have any requirements about caterers or other vendors or even if they have recommendations. Once the vendors have been decided upon and booked, begin working out the details.

Contact the floristthumbnail-2

To put the finishing touch on the ceremony plans, contact the florist to begin working on the flowers. Flowers add such beauty to any wedding plan, particularly as bouquets. Bouquets are the perfect expression of elegance for a bride and her bridal party. Select flowers that fit the personality and needs of the couple and plan the ceremony of dreams.

Planning a wedding is an exciting time. Help make the time joyful, instead of stressful, by following a careful plan to ensure that everything is accomplished peacefully and happily.
