Meet Anna Porterfield
Lead Wedding Coordinator & Designer at Flora D’ Amore
For over a decade, Anna Porterfield has been in the floral business, creating stunning arrangements and designing weddings and special events. She graduated with a Bachelor of the Arts degree in Costume Design for Theater, where she learned how to get into someone else’s head to see their vision and bring it into her own to manifest it. Her career in the floral industry began at a wedding/events company in Middleburg, VA. She fell in love with the idea of putting on big events that mimicked live theater!
“Why put on one show 20 times when you can put on 20 different shows one time?” – Anna Porterfield
Since Anna is a designer first and an artist second, her clients are endlessly impressed with her ability to interpret their vision. Taking an idea that a couple might have a hard time putting into words and growing it into their dream wedding is truly her gift. Dedicated to her clients, Anna also has a unique way of working with any budget to create a brilliant wedding day. She believes that no one should be limited when it comes to such a special and beautiful day, so she advocates for repurposing ceremony flowers, like aisle runners, altarpieces, and floral arches at the wedding reception.
The best part of working with couples is seeing their enthusiastic and joyous reactions to the final reveal, including their cheerful faces in photos that get posted to social media afterward.
When she’s not designing weddings, you can find Anna with her family. She is a mother of two and, of course, enjoys going to the theater.
Meet Karli
Wedding Coordinator & Designer at Flora D’ Amore
With a BFA from Central Washington University and a love for creating, Karli found herself designing bouquets at Stadium Flowers in 2019 and joined the Flora D’ Amore team in 2021. Her eye for design and artistic skills, along with her attention to detail and consistency, never fails to impress clients. Karli is artsy, naturally positive, and loves what she does. Knowing that a couple’s wedding flowers will be photographed and hung in their home, she feels honored to be able to design and create something so meaningful and beautiful.
“Being a part of these memories that last forever, even if the flowers cannot physically last forever, is so special.” – Karli
To help bring a couple’s vision to life, Karli encourages them to create and share Pinterest boards. Although some boards have mass quantities of inspiration photos that might not reflect their dream wedding or are inconsistent with one another, she can always pinpoint similarities and pull out the perfect elements that speak to her clients.
According to Karli, there is nothing like seeing everything come together on the big day and being in the room to see a couple’s excited reactions to the finished product. Although things can be crazy the day of a wedding, her clients repeatedly express their delight and gratitude that the flowers are there, ready, stunning, and radiant.
In addition to weddings, Karli has a love for theater and enjoys performing. When wedding season slows down in the winter, you can catch her skiing in the mountains or escaping the cold with a romantic comedy.
